The clouser fly is without a doubt one of the most popular and versatile fly fishing patterns ever created. Originally developed by Bob Clouser as a fly for small mouth bass, it quickly proved its worth in the salt as well. Today, you would be hard pressed to find a fly fisherman who doesn't carry an assortment of clouser flies as standard equipment. The clouser fly is effective on just about every game fish that swims - bass, bluefish, flounder, sea trout, drum, tuna, bonefish, tarpon, jacks, 'cuda, snappers….you get the picture. It can be fished fast or slow, deep or shallow. As the saying goes - "Don't leave home without it!"
