Ray Bondorew, in his book Stripers and
Streamers, says this pattern was developed one summer while fishing the rocky
shores of Narragansett, Rhode Island, as a sand eel imitation for Striped Bass. Very
quickly this fly proved it's worth and many times since then! A sparse fly it is easily
cast and can be fished day or night for a variety of game fish including bass, bluefish,
weakfish (sea trout), drum and more!
We offer two styles: The traditional Ray's Fly and the
Ray's Fly with eyes and an epoxy head. Both are highly effective saltwater patterns!
