Ever since she was three years old, Lisa has been showing her artistic talents.
Growing up she was exposed to art classes that helped her to add definition to her work,
and allowed her to experiment in various mediums. Although she finds each medium to have
its own charm, she adores pencil, acrylic and photography.
While growing up on Long Island, she was exposed to an
environment rich in wildlife and seascapes. Long Island is abundant with parks, preserves
and beaches a perfect subject for any artist. Whether it be a drawing, painting or
photography she captures the image as well as the feelings that surround that
image.
When asked about her favorite photograph, entitled "La
Jolla Sun" Lisa had this to say:
While vacationing in California, I came across a group of
Sea Lions basking in the summer sun. One Sea Lion, a young pup, had chosen to bask at a
distance from his family. I cautiously climbed down a rocky cliff, attempting not to
disturb him. When I was within six feet of him, he began to rise up and stretch allowing
for this perfect shot. Soon after he called to his family, they returned his call, and he
dove off the rocks to join them.
If you have an appreciation for wildlife and a love of art,
you will be most impressed with the works of Lisa Jensen.
